Dan Tristão

Founding Partner
Dan is South African born to English and Portuguese parents. At an early age he fell in love with travel, and this later led him to both live and work in England, Japan and finally Italy, which he has called home since 2006. After graduating with a B Com in Communication from the University of Johannesburg, and two years working in Marketing, he set off for Europe.  In 2011, Dan founded Brilliant! Journeys . In 2013 he took up the challenge to obtain an MBA in Milan while continuing to work, graduating in 2015 from Politecnico di Milano. Through Brilliant! he continues to bring his passions of communication and travel together. Dan’s teaching style is structured, clear and precise yet relaxed and friendly.  He believes that a person needs to feel at ease and have fun in order to really learn. It’s also imperative for him that  every learner takes away something concrete from every lesson. He has taught students in various countries and of many nationalities, as diverse as businesspeople, toddlers, refugees and supermodels. Along with travelling, he has running in his blood, and likes to run the odd marathon. Dan’s also been told he’s not a bad singer or cook!

Tania Haberland

Partner
Tania Haberland (BA, HDE, MA) is a poet, artist and teacher. Half Mauritian, half German, born in South Africa, she has lived in the US, UK, Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia. Mother-tongue English, she also speaks French, German, Italian & Creole. Her first book Hyphen won the Ingrid Jonker Prize. Tania currently works between Mauritius, Milan and Cape Town as part of brilliant! Journeys, offering services in the art of wellbeing & learning through her own English Like Water method. She has taught in public & private schools, shelters for abused women & refugees, centres for the learning disabled and head-injured as well as to a wide range of private clients. Her approach is experiential, creative & sensorial, always learner-centred. Her performance work has varied from slams to performance art to collaborations with musicians: from Bristol to Milan to the Congo & Mauritius. She has featured at many international literature festivals  at the Parliament & National Gallery of South Africa, and is even known to perform a mean punk song in the shower.

Thanks to U4You’s enthusiasm and professionalism and with the support of selected and trusted partners, for a number of years now U4You has contributed to offering young people a future with a wealth of educational possibilities, professional opportunities and lifestyle choices.

Career Building
The Career Paths management team has been working in Career Building for over 20 years, and draws on important international professional experience and a network of high standing to support the most ambitious projects of training and both personal and professional development. Extensive experience of classroom teaching and the Coaching and Personal Development projects have enabled Career Paths to develop a range of innovative services dealing with awareness and definition of the ideal career path. The Student Value Path is an intensive training experience that introduces participants to the workplace while they are still studying, allowing them to enhance their CVs with an experience of value. This Path is composed of different phases, but it can be mainly divided in two steps: the Counselling Process and the Experience in the Field.
